To generate a D.T.M,
the conventional method interpolates the model as from
certain known points and spaces, measured beforehand.
Thanks to LIDAR, each point of this model is measured
directly at the time of flying over the data zone. The
precision of this method allows the production of models
which demonstrate the actual relief of the ground.
The second advantage is that laser is capable of measuring
many elevations at the same time. This means, for example,
that both the top and the bottom of a building are identifiable.
The representation of the buildings in a town or the
modeling of a huge forest becomes possible thanks to
specific reprocessing techniques. The same block of
data can therefore be used for many different applications
(D.T.M., analysis of vegetation, urban planning
).
By means of this new mapping product Cicade guarantees
its clients a real time saving, as the combination
of collecting and processing data at the same moment
increases the precision of the models.
